About Us
My name is Ree, and I proudly served 11 years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Military Working Dog Handler. Throughout my career, I worked with and trained Military Working Dogs (MWD), highly driven dogs trained for security and protection roles within the military. I also had the privilege of training and handling Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD), whose critical work plays a vital role in military operations.
Dogs have always been my world. For over four years, I have previously worked casually at Petbarn, where I thoroughly enjoyed meeting both local and visiting pets and their owners. Each day welcomed such rewards as I offered advice and assisted customers in caring for their cherished animals.
In my spare time, I love training my own dogs to keep their minds engaged (for both them and me), but above all, I simply enjoy their companionship. I am currently completing a Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy, accredited by the Australian Canine Rehabilitation Association (ACRA), with the goal of becoming a certified Canine Hydrotherapist. This marks an exciting step toward expanding my skills in canine exercise and rehabilitation – a passion I’ve pursued since leaving the military.
My dedication to canine health and wellbeing drives me to help dogs recover from injury, improve fitness, shed excess weight, and build strength. I am excited to announce the introduction of Private Dog Training Lessons at LAW K9 GYM in 2025, alongside hydrotherapy and rehabilitation services.
I am incredibly proud to have established LAW K9 GYM, named in memory of my three retired Military Working Dogs – Linc, Ayden, and Wilbur – who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022. Their legacy lives on through this business and my ongoing commitment to helping dogs live healthier, happier lives.

LAW K9 GYM began to take shape in mid-2023, inspired by my two high-energy puppies, Kovu (Belgian Malinois) and Ghost (Labrador Retriever). With a busy work schedule and unpredictable weather, I found it increasingly difficult to give them the exercise they needed – and I felt guilty for it. I started using a canine hydrotherapy treadmill to keep them active, and they absolutely loved it.
The K9 gym has already proven invaluable, providing a consistent way for my dogs to stay fit and mentally stimulated – no matter the conditions. Whether it's scorching heat, freezing cold, or storms, Kovu and Ghost can get the exercise they need, rain, hail, or shine.
